E.J. received his BSN and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Arizona State University. He is also board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. His doctoral research focuses on physical activity monitors use to improve health outcomes.
He was a Fellow at ASU Biodesign Institutes’ Project HoneyBee, focusing on validating wearable biosensors for clinical use and was also a research associate at Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale researching with the Obesity Solutions section.
E.J.’s continued interests involve lipids, obesity, physical activity, fatty acid biology and cardiovascular disease examining the impact of omega-3 PUFAs.
He is a member of the Endocrine Nurses Society, the National Lipid Association, the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids, the American Association of Managed Care Nurses, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Preventative Cardiovascular Nurses Association.
E.J.’s research has been presented at the Arizona Bioindustry Association Expo and Mayo Clinic’s Transform Conference, 2015, University of Arizona's Telehealth Symposium 2017.
