Margaret Eckert-Norton, PhD, FNP-BC, CDE

Margaret Eckert-Norton has been a member of the Endocrine Nurses Society (ENS) for over two decades. She has previously served on the ENS board as secretary, program chair, and president. As a member of the Endocrine Society, she served on the Hormone Health Network committee and on the Advocacy and Public Outreach Core Committee as a member and as committee chair.
She earned her PhD from NYU in Nursing Research and Theory Development. She is certified through ANCC as a Nurse Practitioner in Family Health.
Dr. Norton has maintained NCBDE certification as a diabetes educator (CDE) since 1989. Her background also includes women’s and adult health addressing the health care needs of persons with endocrine disorders.
With her ENS colleague, Saundra Hendricks, Margaret is co-author of a chapter on endocrine issues during pregnancy.
She has recently re-joined the ENS board as chair of our new Action Advocacy initiatives.
