Charity Tan is a nurse practitioner with the inpatient glycemic management service at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento California and holds a master’s degree in nursing from California State University Los Angeles.

She is nationally board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner and Advanced Diabetes management with the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists.

Charity took a lead role in developing the first post-graduate fellowship program for nurse practitioners in inpatient glycemic management at UC Davis Medical center in 2020. She co-authored chapters in advanced practice nursing textbooks and presented on the emerging workforce of acute care nurse practitioners in hospital medicine in Helsinki 2014 at the International Council of Nurses APNN conference.

Charity has a well-rounded practice with previous experience in hospital medicine, nephrology, neuroscience and presently endocrinology. Currently, she serves as a board member of the Endocrine Nurses Society.
